Empirical Lab testing instructions
The first part of Empirical's program starts with a lab test.
When the order is sent to the lab by our doctors, you will receive an email. Double check your spam folder! Once it's sent, you can go get your blood drawn.
- On the day of your lab draw, please bring a form of ID to your visit.
- You will need to be fasting for at least 8 hours to get the most accurate results. A urine sample will also be collected at the lab.
Do I need to schedule an appointment at the lab?
Labs take walk-in visits, but you can schedule an appointment to reduce wait times. To schedule an appointment for your lab visit, you can use Quest's online appointment booking tool. You do not need an account. Here are the answers to the questions they'll ask:
| Question or field | Answer |
| Create an account or Continue as Guest | Continue as Guest |
| Reason for visiting | All other tests |
| Are you paying with insurance? | No |
Do I need to fast before the test?
Yes, make sure to fast for at least 8 hours before your lab tests. Drinking water or black coffee (no milk, sugar, or syrups) is fine.
Do I need to go to a lab by a certain date?
We recommend visiting within 1 week. However, your test order does not expire if you need to wait longer.
What should I expect from the lab visit?
Most labs have self check-in in the waiting room. There will be a tablet that asks you to provide your phone number and scan your ID. If you are asked if you plan to use insurance to pay for your visit, select “No”.
After you check in, a lab technician will call your name. The actual blood draw takes less than 5 minutes.
If the lab asks for a fax number to send results, this is the fax number for Empirical Health: 339-466-0036
If you are having any issues at the lab, send us an email to [email protected] and we'll help you troubleshoot.
Do I pay anything at the Quest lab?
Nope! Your test is prepaid in full.
Do I need to share any information with the Quest lab technician?
No. If they ask, you can say that your test was ordered by Dr. Rodriguez, who works for Empirical Health.
When can I expect my test results?
Typically 2-5 days for most results.
What if I have problems at the lab?
Email us at [email protected] and include a phone number to call you at.
